You can import setup information (accounts, products/services, vendors, customers, employees, and departments), and then transactions from QuickBooks Online using the QB Online Import screen. Establish a connection with QuickBooks Online, and then import the target data.
Note: If you are unable to import data directly from QuickBooks Online for any reason, you can import your data from Excel. To use this method, you must create export files in QuickBooks Online, and then import them using the Import from Excel screen.
To import data from QuickBooks Online:
If this is your first time accessing this screen, click the Connect to QuickBooks button to enter requested account information, establishing a connection and authorizing the import operation.
Once you establish the connection, the QB Online Import screen appears again displaying options you can use to identify the data to import.
Note: If the client does not use account numbers or account numbers are missing from some accounts, click the word here on the screen to add or update account numbers in QuickBooks and then proceed with importing data.
Click Setup; then, select the data to import from the list of items.
Setup information imports once, although you must import any new setup information you enter into QuickBooks Online after the initial import.
Click Import.
Click Transactions; then, select the transaction information to import.
You can import transactions for all periods in the current year, all transactions from the last year, or transactions from a selected period.
Notes:
For Accounting Power clients with CAS turned on, any unpaid bills are imported to the Expense module.
If you have a high volume of transactions, we recommend processing smaller amounts of data during any run.
Click Import.
