Reset Client Completely

You can completely reset a client to enter entirely new information into the system for that client.

We strongly recommend that you use this feature with caution! Once you reset the client, the deleted data cannot be recovered. Be certain that you want to purge and re-enter this data, and run and save any reports you need before purging.

Resetting a client completely deletes all of the following:

§        Chart of Accounts

§        Customers

§        Products

§        Vendors

§        Transactions

§        Invoices

§        Payments

§        Bills

§        Credit Card Transactions

Resetting a client does not clear the basic client information you entered in the Administration module when you set the client up. However, this function clears all of the client information and transactions you entered for the client in Accounting Power.

Note: You can use the Purge All Transactions feature to purge only transactions and other data from an open year or period and leave client setup information and beginning balances intact.

To reset a client completely:

1.  Verify that the client's name appears in the header bar to ensure that the correct client is selected and is active in the interface.

2.  Select Reset Client Completely from the Utilities menu to open the Reset Client Completely screen.

3.  Click Reset to delete all of the client' data and setup information.

The client's data is purged.

Note: Purged data cannot be recovered.

4.  Re-enter correct data for the client as if for a new client.
