Enter Trial Balances Directly

You can use the Trial Balance Entry screen to enter or import an unadjusted trial balance for any period for which transactions have not been entered. You can enter account balances on directly screen, or create a template worksheet in Excel into which you can enter account balances and, then, import this information.

With the Trial Balance Entry screen, you can:

You can only enter trial balances directly for periods in which transactions have not, and will not, be entered, and once you have started entering transactions for a year, you cannot directly enter trial balances for later periods in that year.

In addition, you cannot directly enter balances and transactions in the same period. However, if you enter a trial balance directly for a period and later determine that you can enter transactions for that period, you can zero out each balance entered on the Trial Balance Entry screen and then enter transactions as needed.
